Good morning,
We have only 'cruised' once and that was a small ship with a maximum of 32 passengers in the Galapagos. I'd like to find a great small ship (under 250 passengers) for the Fjords of Norway in late May or early June 2026. We are not interested in mega ships, casinos, water slides or a central park.
Any suggestions? I've look at Linblad thus far - Viking is too large, Ponant could be an option.
Thank you!

Have you looked at Hurtigruten? I've done 2 cruises with them and I have another scheduled soon. I cruised the Trollfjord around Norway and it was wonderful. They have a lot of other ships going around Norway and they're all pretty small. Hurtigruten ships do not have the glitz and glam of big ships and no casinos, water slides, etc.. It sounds to me like Hurtigruten might suit your needs.
I second Hurtigruten, based on what you've written they should be perfect. I've been to see the Northern Lights with them and it was a great experience. They have some good offers going on at the moment for 2026 sailings too.
Look at Havilla. It is the new alternative to Hurtigruten. New ships, all electric. Friendly staff. We took it last year and really enjoyed it. Food was very good. They use a "small dishes" menu with good variety and change up the menu as they travel through various regions.
You might want to look at Ponant or SeaDream Yacht Club. Both run smaller ships that explore the fjords in a comfortable, relaxed way without crowds. Hurtigruten also has good coastal and fjord routes on its smaller vessels. Late May to early June is a great time to go, with long daylight hours and impressive scenery.
