BALCONY

We will be cruising with our kids & another couple & their kids. I was told that the partition between the balconies can be remove for the duration of our cruise. We planned on doing this with our friends who have the cabin next door. Our intent was when the kids were sleeping we could relax on the balcony. Also, I am having nightmares thinking the kids will climb over the partition from one balcony to another. When I mentioned the partition removal to my travel agent he never hear of such a thing. Has anyone ever had the partition removed? We will be on RCI's Enchantment of the Seas. Thanks!

We were on the RCI's Rhapsody of the Seas and there was no removable divider. They had a frosted plastic window between balconies so you couldn't see into the next room without looking over the balcony.

During a recent cruise on Ren, I met some people who were travelling together. They made a similar request and were answered with the firm "No!".
Cheers
Definitely call the cruise line - they will know for sure. On Dawn Princess we were able to have the room steward unlock the door/partition between the balconies - made them into one long one. We were able to close them (without locking) when we chose to for privacy. They were also quite high - like a door. Worked out great. Good luck.
If you are concerned about your children climbing over the partition I would not reserve a balcony stateroom. The rail is only about 3 1/2 feet high. I would be more concerned about them climbing over that.

I have had balcony rooms on both the Rhapsody of the Seas as well as on the Grandeur of the Seas. I never had the divider taken down, but a friend of mine told me that he's heard that it can be done. I agree with the other post. Call the cruise line and have them give you a firm answer. Have fun!
