Interesting! I just took another look at supermarket.treew (for Camaguey), and there's now a 3,000 watt (6,000 watt peak) OMG portable power station inverter / generator for sale on that website - price $1,531.69 USD. I don't know much about these portable power stations, other than they're essentially just a big lithium battery that can be recharged through either the use of solar panels, or through A/C plug in whenever there's electricity from the grid in Cuba to recharge them.
I might buy this thing for my wife there, because when taking into consideration the amount of money that I'm spending each month for the gasoline needed to power our existing Pulsar inverter / generator for our casa, the new power station generator would literally pay for itself in a matter of 6 months without the need to buy more gasoline to power it. hmmmmm Decisions! Decisions! Anyway, here it is if anyone else who would like to take a look. Help me out! Tell me what you think I should do! Terry

Hay mi madre!! It's now no longer available. That's the thing with that online supermarket website... when you see something that you might like to buy there - especially an inverter / generator - you have to act FAST to purchase it, otherwise, it'll be GONE faster than you can say... Hasta la victoria para siempre! Bueno, if I see it there again, I might jump on it. My wife and I are now talking about that thing. At least I had time to take a photo of it to send to her via WhatsApp. As Rosana Rosana Dana once said - never mind!! For NOW!

It's back now again and in-stock... for the time being. If anyone has any knowledge about how these things work and whether they're worth the money, please let me know. Thanks! Terry

Hey there, Simon. I haven't heard a thing yet from Air Transat - and hopefully I won't. We'll see what happens. But yes, very unfortunate set of circumstances. The pilots and AT still have time to come to an agreement before Wednesday. I'm sure the union and AT are working on it together around the clock. Terry

Simon, I now know that should the pilot strike commence on Wednesday involving Air Transat, I won't have to worry about anything happening with my reservation for departure on December 18th until at least Saturday, December 13th at the earliest when decisions will be made for next week's departures. I imagine anyone flying with Air Transat this week through the end of Friday have already been notified that their flights have been canceled. See the Air Transat link below which I imagine will update eventually. Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed that they come to an agreement soon to avoid the strike entirely. Terry

YEP! Dodged a bullet, that's for sure, Simon. Full speed ahead now. Thanks for your well wishes. Unfortunately I'll be completely off the grid when I'm there so any updates on the situation in Camaguey will have to wait until at least January 11th when I get back. But breathing a big sigh of relief now. Aaaaaaaaa!! Terry
