Turks and Caicos

We love the caribbean. Laid back, St. John, Tortola, Jost, etc. Also love Staniel Cay in Exumas....looking to try out another island for New YEar's this year. We'll have 3 kids. We like sandy beaches, off the beaten path with a few little restaurants and bars here to visit. Doesnt have to be fancy. Any recommendations for islands of Turks? Or should wetry somewhere else?

Also, we'd like to stay in a private AirBnB home...as we typically do not like the big hotel touristy type places...we are open to any other island suggestions as well. we have not been to Anguilla, St. Lucia, St. Croix, Bermuda, Aruba....

When you are asking about the "Turks" do mean the island of "Providenciales" (one of the Caicos islands) which is where 95% of the resorts, hotels and rental villas and condos in the Turks & Caicos chain are located or do you mean one of the more remote and less populated Turks islands? Just so you know Grand Turk (the second most populated island in the chain is pretty sleepy and all the other islands are pretty remote and sparsely populated..

Also, you mentioned Bermuda - that island is very far north and will be too cool there in December and January for swimming.

What type of budget do you have for your home rental.

Wherever you decide to go most places have minimum stay requirements during Christmas/New Years and will be charging the highest rates of the year so be prepared for sticker shock.

Forgive me for rant:

Airbnb is an advertising site! You pay 15% to book thru them, go direct!

All the villas I can think of are listed on VRBO, Homeaway, Tripadvisor/Flipkey/Vacationhomerentals

Many have their own websites (same places folks!!!) book direct and save money

Here's a rant, although T&C is very VRBO advertising dependent, owners hate OTAs. Why pay a middleman a commission just because they advertised a place. Same with Expedia (who happens to own VRBO and others)

Here's a secret: at least in T&C most airbnb properties are shared less than great places. There are some good ones, but for T&C it's not the most popular listing avenue for owners.

One more thing, New Years is already mostly sold out in Provo!

So I suggest: (for 4 persons, don't know if you want more)

Dec 30-Jan 6-- https://www.vrbo.com/34817?k_clickid...U0waArKG8P8HAQ

Both places can offer an extra cot/rollaway bed

Anything beachfront starts at $4000-$15,000 nightly there. I can think of other places if you need more info
