Trip report: Woman solo travelling in Cuba
I spent 2 weeks in Cuba on my own, traveling independently, and absolutely loved it!
My itinerary was Havana - Trinidad - Playa Ancon - Cienfuegos, so a great mix of culture and beach.
Check out my blog for the full trip report and some tips and inspiration:

Cheers,
Carmen

hi carmen,
having visited Cuba for the first time a few months ago I was interested to read your blog but what a shame there isn't more detail - I wanted more!
Nice pics and I agree with a lot of what you say; sadly Centro has not visibly improved since your visit and I'm sure that Vieja has become more touristy. And I wonder how much longer "jam tomorrow" is going to work for the average Cuban though those with access to the tourist dollar do seem to be more comfortable.
have you got any plans to go back?

If you do have plans to go back and want to explore the Jewish culture on the island, there is a great cruise that departs from Miami. http://www.israeltour.com/

Just came back from a week in Havana and the beach at Veradero (solo, female, senior). Had a great time. Met some great Cuban people!
Heard lots of music. (Plan to be in Havana on the weekend for the most Afro-Cuban music, outside of tourist shows.)
Prepare for some insects (Start B vitamins ahead of time and bring OFF if sensitive.) in lower priced rooms (casas particulares, most homes do not have screens) and to sweat copiously (bring a washcloth to mop).
Happy to answer any questions.
