The winds

I have been hearing so much about the winds in Aruba lately as I investigate the carribean. Are they really that bad?

I haven't been to Aruba, but we did look at vacationing there at a private home. The video and info I rec'd from the owner didn't appear that winds were a problem but were great for windsurfers.

The windfs are NOT bad, in fact we welcomed them, they kept us cool. The only time I found that they affected me is my hair always stayed in a pony tail and parasailing made a me a bit nervous )but I probably would have been nervous anyway

We were there for a week in Feb. and the wind wasn't bad at all. Maybe we were just lucky. Some people report "sand-blasting" etc., which we didn't experience.
Apparently some months tend to be windier than others - the many Aruba experts at www.aruba-bb.com can advise you on this.

Winds yesterday ran between 14-25 m.p.h. These tradewinds are the only thing that save you from the heat. Winds tend to die down and night and pick up during the day. The fall tends to be much less windy than the rest of the year = hot, hot, hot!

We were in Aruba during July and it was rather windy, but as others have said, we would have been very hot without the wind. Don't expect to have any type of hairdo through. Fortunately mine was long enough to just twist and clip up out of the way. We only had one day that the wind was almost unbearable and we had to come off the beach. It was blowing the sand so hard that it would sting when it hit you. I loved Aruba and would not let the wind deter me from going. It is a great island to rent a jeep and just go exploring. Don't miss Baby Beach. I thought it was wonderful since I don't really going in the ocean to swim.
