It really depends on where you're flying from and what time of year you plan to go.
I find that the best airfare I find is generally bought 6-12 weeks before departure, and I travel mostly within the continental US and from the northeast of the US to the Caribbean.

I fly to BDA from GSO. Airfare ranges from $300 to $800 with the occasional sale. Jet Blue and USA3000 have introduced service to BDA from New York and Baltimore. They are showing considerably lower fares than USAIR and DELTA.
For inexpensive lodging consider:

Rosemont Hotel
Surfside Hotel
Salt Kettle bed and breakfast
Off season hotels, etc are much lower.

Don't mean to threadjack, but there's so little info here about Bermuda.
Does the airfare go down at all for the winter season - i.e. December-January? I'd be travelling from Jamaica to New York/Miami/Atlanta to Bermuda. So far the fares from New York & Mia are ridiculously high : $800+
Any suggestions?

Ziana,
Your right about not having much information for Bermuda on here.
There is a Bermuda hotel locator map I added to the bottom of this page. Hope it helps you locate where you want to stay.
