Hi Lois.
Enjoy reading your posts. Have 2 co-workers who love Barbados, including one who just got back from 2 great weeks. We've never been there. Sounds like it's worth checking out. Also considering Aruba, St. Maarten, Bahamas, Antigua and Grand Cayman. Have you been to any of those? If so, how do they compare?
Can you please e-mail Barbados tips to [email protected].
Thanks!
Dave.

Regarding the other islands - we've been to them (except Aruba). Antigua is similar to Barbados, but more the way it was 20 years ago -- still lots of goats roaming freely. Dickenson Bay was nice. Bahamas -- people mainly seem to go to Atlantis, which is nice -- kind of like a big water park for kids (so you need to not mind having lots of kids around). We loved Ocean Club there (their upscale portion of the resort). Caymans got a lot of damage with the hurricane -- most people are writing me now who were booked there and want someplace different.

Definitely consider Barbados -- you won't be disappointed.

Katieg -

I'd be happy to e-mail my tips, but I need your e-mail address. You can also write me at:
[email protected] and I will send them back attached.

As far as best beach for small children - definitely Sandy Beach on the South Coast -- very calm, shallow, crystal clear turquoise waters.
