Jerry:

Key West is not in the Caribbean. You need to post this on the US board.

Just cut and paste, I am sure you will get some very helpful answers.

(btw, girlfriend is not hyphenated, you might want to fix that before you repost...the US board is really, really picky about spelling and grammer)

Sheli

Hey Sheli...how about just laying off of the guy. Key west is more in the Caribbean than Bermuda. BTW, Sheli is spelled S-H-E-L-L-Y.

Jerry,

KW is a favorite spot for gays. But, we've found that those places are often the most fun, and have the least hassles (Provincetown, MA; Olgunquit, ME;, Palm Springs, CA)

Go and have a great, relaxing time. The drive down from Miami is a great part of the trip.

Yes, Key West is a place that has many "gay" people vacationing there. BUT, it's one of my favorite vacation spots. They have great restaurants, lots of entertainment, plenty of activities, and it's A LOT cheaper than going to the actual Caribbean. I usually go in February, it's not crowded, and the temperatures are in the low 90s.

Jerry, go to Key West and have a ball.
Sheli,Who cares about a "hyphen". As far as the Keys not being in the Caribbean, neither are the Bahamas, but they are constantly hyped as being so.They are many miles farther from the Carb. than Key West.GO Jerry,go. Have a cheeseburger and margarita at Jimmy Buffets place for me!

SHELI: Please don't be intimidated by the harsh responses. The Internet is fast helping our language slide into the abyss. All who help put on the brakes are doing good work. Thanks for lending a hand.
(BTW: It's grammar, not grammer.)
The Apostrophe Police

You know what...they have categories for a reason. Key West is part of the US and the Florida Keys. It is not a Caribbean island.

Jerry could do a search on the US board and find all the info he needs to plan his vacation including past posts concerning his question about gays.

And, the US board is picky, just go over there and post with something misspelled! Just trying to help the guy get the info he needs without having the US people jump all over him.

Geesh.

Sheli

boy - everyone on this site needs to get a life. rude and crude comments need only apply to rude and crude remarks. i've been searching on this site for a couple of months, and it really is sad given the state of our world that people are still this harsh, on a site such as this where PEOPLE ARE ASKING FOR HELP! i'm willing to bet that 99.9% of these warmongers wouldn't dare run their mouths without their 'safety blanket' keyboard!
jerry,
i've been to key west three times, worked there one of those times. key west is beautiful, but pretty congested. riding around in scooters is a must. a trip to the tortugas is a definite also. but like every tropical destination, one must do their research on the best times to visit.
good luck!

I just have to stir the pot once more re/Sheli's remark about"categories".The Bahamas,Turks and Caicos are in the Atlantic, not the Caribbean.Obviously, they are in the wrong "category"!We need to set up a category for them,or else float them down into the Caribbean!
It was(IMHO)a rude reply from Sheli to Jerry re/the hyphen.
To Jerry: as I stated in my earlier post,go to Key West.It is great,no matter what "category" it's in.

In answer to your question Key West is a popular location for alternate lifestyle couples but it welcomes everyone, bad spellers, the hyphen- police, the geographically challgenged, apostrophe lovers, judgmental and opinioned folks and those who love to say "geeze." Go, enjoy, have fun in a very open community that welcomes all!
