We are 2 single women in our late 20s looking for somewhere to go for a week in January. We want nice beaches, fun people and nightlife - but we don't want to be surrounded by college kids or honeymooners. We want to go somewhere new so St. Martin, Barbados, Costa Rica and Martinique are all out. We thought may be Acapulco, Mexico. Any other suggestions?

Try Aruba. I went there with a friend of mine (we're in our 20s) and we never felt out of place. The beaches were gorgeous and the restaurants were excellent.

I agree with Aruba and NEgril. both have great towns with tons of nightlife, have affordable places to stay and have beautiful beaches. I would, however, stay away from the all-inclusives in Jamaica for they attract mostly honeymooners/couples in Negril.
