Help Please

Can anyone tell me if Aruba is a good place to go for a couple? Also, can you give me some some reasonable rate places to stay - ahs anyone stayed at the Hyatt in Aruba? When is the least expensive time to go?

I'm not an Aruba expert but thousdands of couples go there every year. Whether it is the right island for you depends on what you want to do and what you are expecting from an island vacation.

Generally the least expensive time to visit anywhere in the Caribbean is during the summer and early fall (Low Season). The actual Low Season dates can vary from resort to resort so it's best to check directly with the resorts you are interested in to find out when you can get the best deals.

Aruba is great for couples. We loved it and would like to return.

Most destinations are less expensive during low season. Exclude all school holidays, spring break, and national holidays. One good thing about Aruba is when the rest of the Caribbean/Mexico is being plagued with hurricanes and tropical storms, Aruba is usually not effected.

The Hyatt will be at the high end pricing for hotels. Look at the Holiday Inn, Amsterdam Manor, Manchebo Beach Resort, Golden Tulip Bucuti Beach Resort, and The Westin.

It depends on what you are looking for. Aruba brings in a lot of cruise ships. Celebrity is a big one and Carnival brings year-round weekly cruises to Aruba. So when you're downtown it is a busy place. Some people prefer islands that don't have the cruise ships.
The Hyatt pools are beautiful and there is plenty of room around them. The rooms are small but very clean. The Hyatt has bands and karoake at night and a great beach bar as well. Drinks are expensive. Ruinas del Mar is phenomenal. The food is great and you can't beat the ambience. The least expensive time to go is during the off season. Look for package deals.

I prefer other destinations than Aruba. It has a very "Americanized" feel to it with most the hotels lining up along one strip and highrises. I prefer a more islandy atmosphere and smaller hotels.

I also found that the constant wind did not make for an enjoyable day at the beach with the blowing sand. If you are a pool person opposed to a beach person, there are lovley pools tho.

It is a popular destination, offers a little more activity (casinos, shows, etc) than many isalnds and is relatively inexpensive compared to many other islands.
