Cayos Cochinos - Anyone Been?
A friend of mine turned me on to a series of videos from Honduras from this producer/travel guy. While I was watching them at work today, I came across this video about Cayos Cochinos -

I have to admit that I've only heard of the islands in passing. Has anyone been? Looks like an amazing spot for off the beaten path travel - not to mention 100% beautiful.
I'd love to hear some first hand accounts.

I haven't been, but its on my list (very long) of places to go dive. Gets good reviews from divers, but as you said, it is off the beatne path - so not to many reviews are out there.
You will probably get a better response if you post on the Latin America board.
Here are couple of my bookmarks:
Fodorites (from 2005) - who'd been to snorkel http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34680025
and the resort that caught my eye:

I spent a week in Cayos Cochinos about a decade ago. Absolutely loved it -- I'm taxing my brain trying to remember the name of the place I stayed - it was a small, somewhat funky (in the best sort of a way) resort (so to speak) -- that catered primarily to scuba divers. Maybe 8 cabins at that time -- meals served family style. Loved it. Actually, the diving wasn't all the great which was a surprise -- but I loved the setting so much it didn't matter.

I did a web search and found the place I stayed in Cayos Cochinos --
Plantation Beach Resort

Actually -- my cabin was the A-frame featured on their web page (bedroom upstairs, small iving area/bathroom downstairs). Hasn't changed a bit. Interesting.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
