Breezes - Day Trip on my B-Day!
My husband and I will be visint Nassau, Breezes soon and the Saturday we are than happens to be my B-Day! Even though we know it is all inclusive, we are looking looking to leave the resort for the day (shopping and sightseeing) and would like to find a nice/fun restaurant nearby for dinner. Any suggestions would be GREAT!

Only suggestion we have had is to go to Atlantis for the day. Is it really worth are while or should we visit downtown (straw market...)

Thanks...

Brian
I have been to Nassau many times and Breezes is very nice. They only have 1 ala carte rest and 1 buffet rest. so you probably will want to leave for a meal or two. atlantis is really cool to visit, you can tour the property, eat have drinks or drop money in the casino. The rest there are nice but very pricey and very touristy. We had lunch there, 2 salads 2 ice teas and the bill was 40.00! You will love your all inclusive hotel. A cheap local place that is fun with good food is the POOP DECK, located near bridge to Paradise Island. My favorite is actually the rest at Compass Point. It is located in the other direction near the residential area of Lyford Cay. It is owned by Island records producer chris Blackwell. These are the brightly colored huts that you can see from the plane as you approach Nassau. A good choice for romantic dinner would also be the Ocean Club on paradise Island. You could combine the straw market and downtown with a day on paradise island as you will travel thru straw market are to get to bridge. We take the local bus to town for about a buck and then cab over to the bridge. It is a good walk across bridge to the atlantis or you can boat over for about 2.00. Good luck! We went to Breezes last month and had a great time. The food is good at the buffet (never got to the Pasta restaurant; we were told by about 4 different couples that it was pretty much the same pastas they served at the buffet) and the food at the beach hut grill is even better than the buffet. They serve steaks, corn on the cob, fish and chips, jerk chicken, imitation crab caesar salad, chicken caesar salad, french fries, nachos, burgers and hotdogs, the list goes on.... we liked eating lunch here and had one supper here also.
A day trip I'd suggest (that we went on) is the Dolphin Encounter. The trip is actually half day and you are taken to a beautiful island (Blue Lagoon Island) and can swim with the dolphins. They have 3 programs and we did the SWIM for $115/us per person... it was worth it and a real time to remember. It would certainly be fun to do on your birthday. You swim with dolphins for 1/2 hour and it is amazing. The island is nice and they also have a separate beach area you could lounge and snorkel at for the other part of the day. They also have Sting ray city on the island. The SWIM dolphin program books up fast so if you want it, call quick. The island itself is very remote and pretty and would make for a relaxing time on a more quiet beach. Cost of just boating out to the beach would not be much I wouldn't think.
We tried booking Dolphin Swim 1 month ahead of our trip and they were already booked up. We went on a waiting list though and luckily there was a cancellation and we got in a week before we went.
ITS FUN!!!
