Hi Adrienne,
I have a little info about Beaches, maybe it will help you. We stayed in Montego Bay in February and took a day trip out to Negril and visited Beaches and Poinciana. We took a tour of Beaches and thought it was nice although the pool area seemed quite crowded. They had a neat Arcade Room which we thought our 14 year old would like(everything was free on the Sega systems), but I don't know if this is the type of vacation I'd like him to have! They have a Japanese Steak House(like Benihana) which our family would like. There was also a nicer restaurant that children under 16 could not eat at. We were only able to see one room as the resort was filled - it was small but very nice. The beach area looked pretty good - and that's about as far as we got.
Our tour guide was reprimanded for leaving her post
at the front desk which, left us with a poor impression of the employees. We were also disturbed
when our Jamaican driver(who has been a long time friend of my father) was treated with disrespect by
the person at the front gate(the employee would only
speak to us and not him).
All in all, the resort did look beautiful but I don't know if its for us. My sister and her family
stayed at Poinciana(next door) two years in a row and liked it alot. She said the food was good, beach was nice, but the rooms were not luxurious(but were very clean). We took a quick tour around Poinciana and liked the outdoor facilities better than Beaches. The employees also seemed nicer. Poinciana was recently purchased by Sandals so maybe there are some upgrades on the rooms in the future. Also, I was wondering if both resorts are owned by Sandals can you use the facilities at either resort? Any info would be helpful. Good luck!

Hi Adrienne,
Maybe this info will help you a little!
We were in Montego Bay in February and took a day trip out to Negril and toured Beaches. The resort looked very nice - there was a Japanese Steak House, a Sega game room, gym, nice pool area(although it did seem quite crowded) and nice beach area. We only got to see one room because the resort was full. The room was very nice but small.
Out tour ended abruptly when our guide was reprimanded by another employee for leaving her post at the front desk. Also, the gate keeper treated our driver with disrespect when she would only speak to us and not him. I was also disappointed to hear our guide make a nasty comment about a maid not working
very hard. I would be curious to hear a report from someone who has stayed there.
All in all, Beaches looked nice, but I don't think its for us unless I would hear some wonderful reports.
My sister stayed at Poinciana(right near Beaches)this year and last with her family and liked it alot. We also stopped there and thought that seemed more to our liking. My sister liked the food, and the beach, however she did say the rooms were clean but not top of the line.
Poinciana was recently purchased by Sandals so maybe the rooms will be upgraded.
I hope you can find some more info on Beaches - it is nice so I would not want to discourage you. I think our kids would like it alot, I'm just not so sure my husband and I would. For all its good points, its funny how a person's comments can really
make you leave with a poor impression.
If you have any more questions, please let me know and in the meantime maybe someone else will respond.

Hi Adrienne,
Sorry about the duplication of info - I received a message that my first reply did not post and wrote another one. Oh, well!

Thanks Nancy for your input. It gives me something to think about. I did see on the internet somewhere that Poinciana was to become Beaches so...maybe they are going to expand. Thanks again!
