Aruba - any suggestions for 2nd destination before or after?

I find that I will be going to Aruba for a meeting for the 1st time next spring and we usually like to make every vacation a "two-fer" meaning we go to a second nearby place either before or after. We will be at the Marriot for the meeting.

Any suggestions of what would be a good 2nd destination to go to before or after Aruba that would be different? We would be two couples, late 50's, wives don't like laying in the sun much. Thanks

Curacao is a closeby second destination. V/ short flight from Aruba.
Are you staying @ Marriott Hotel or condos?

Aruba and Bonaire are the closest Islands to Aruba. Bonaire is more of a diving destination. We've been to Aruba once and going to Curacao in May. Inselair flies between the Islands on a scheduled basis.

I agree with the Curacao recommendation. It is near Aruba and the Marriott is supposedly very nice in Curacao. We stayed at the Aruba marriott and enjoyed our stay there. Can't tell you the specific differences because we never made it to curacao, but I have read only good reviews on the island. It is on our list of places to go.

The "two-fer" sounds like something I would be open to. Building upon what I know, I would suggest Curacao. We had a wonderful experience at the Mariott there. There is so much to see/do there, that the wives don't have to lay out unless they want to. So Curacao is my final answer!
