Wonderland Tips
Taking 4yr old and 2yr old to Wonderland for the day on a Monday. Any tips as to
- best rides/shows and in what order to minimize waiting in line?
- best places to eat in terms of value/good food/less busy?
Any other tips to ensure a generally smooth pleasant day with the family? Thanks

Wonderland is really like any other big amusement park. There's really no way to avoid standing in line, and there's no cheap food inside, either.

You CAN pack a picnic lunch and leave it in a cooler in the car. You are allowed to leave and re-enter, just get your hand stamped before you go.

Also, go early so that you can park close to the gates, and REMEMBER where you park! If your battery dies, or you need other roadside assistance, they employ these people to drive around in trucks all day, jumping dead batteries, etc. Really cool!

Let your kids wear their bathing suits under their clothes, there are a lot of water rides where you will get SOAKED, so no white t-shirts for mom either.

Take sunscreen, and take it easy.

T

GO EARLY! & head straight (no dawdling!) to Hanna-Barbara Land & do most of the rides there. They tend to load slowly since they have to check buckles/straps in ea. car with child for safety. The water park doesn't open until 11 am. By then you'll have done all the rides in Hanna Barbara land. Don't let them go into the park area to play 'cause they could be there all day! Come back later. Go to the kiddie pool and let them cool off. Bring a lunch into the water park but don't be too obvious since they really don't like it when you bring your own food into the park! I would do the shows later in the pm since the shows can accomodate more people. Have fun with K & A!
If it was me, I'd cancel the trip.
I almost lived at Wonderland most every weekends for about six years with my first set of kids, but I would not even think of taking my four year old there. It's too big, the distances are too great for little kids, most of the attractions are of no interest to little kids, and it will still cost a lot of money.
For little kids, I'd head for Toronto Island and Centreville, which is much better for little tykes, costs less, and is more fun to get to.
Your little kids are the perfect age, incidentally, for the Children's Own Museau, next door to the Royal Ontario Museum at Avenue Road and Bloor. It's not a lot of fun for kids over 7, though.
Wait a couple of years and take the kids to Wonderland when they are 5 and 7, or so.
BAK
