Transport Seattle to Victoria to Vancouver

My husband and I plan to travel from Seattle on the Victoria Clipper to Victoria about 9/10 July, stay overnight, then catch the BC Ferry back to Vancouver to fly home (Australia). Is this feasible, we don't want to make advance bookings, we like to be flexible where possible. Thanks.

Sure it's feasible depending on what time your flight leaves Vancouver of course. How are you travelling from Victoria to Vancouver? If you go by bus, you're pretty much assured of boarding the ferry. Just show up at the bus station (downtown Victoria by the Empress Hotel) about 20 minutes before the bus is scheduled to leave.

Are you going from the ferry into Vancouver, or directly to the airport?

Hi April, we plan to travel by bus and ferry from Victoria straight to Vancouver Airport for an evening flight.(hopefully we won't need to go into Vancouver city). I believe we can get one ticket all the way for bus and ferry. Any tips? Thanks.
Kay

Since you're hitting the summer months/tourist season, you might want to make a ferry reservation to guarantee a spot on the ferry. We've missed ferry sailings during the summer because of the tourist traffic--okay for us but maybe not okay for you because you do have an international flight to catch. BC Ferries has a website, where you can check ferry sailing times and reserve your spot: www.bcferries.ca.bc

You should be fine taking the bus. I would go one sailing early though "just in case". Only in very weird circumstances would a bus not make a ferry. For instance one time there was an accident blocking the highway to Swartz Bay terminal and we nearly missed the ferry, and ferries sometimes don't run in extremely windy conditions (usually in winter).

A few buses go directly from Victoria to the airport, most do not. For those that don't, you need to get off at at the Delta Resort and take the shuttle bus to the airport. If it sounds complicated, it's not. When you get to Victoria, just call the bus station (or drop in) and they'll tell you exactly what to do. Everyone has been very helpful any time we've done this.

For more information on the buses check out http://www.pacificcoach.com/ and click on Schedules.
