Toronto Restaurant Feedback

Feedback on any the following restaurants in Toronto would be appreciated. We're looking for very good food and an active (25-45 crowd) or romantic setting; also, reasonably priced.
Sher-E-Punjab
Avli
Little Tibet
Red Tomato
Far Niente
La Pecherie
Chiado
Skylark
Thai Magic

I've been to a couple of those restaurants - Avli and Chiado. Avli is in the Greek neighbourhood along the Danforth. I remember the food being good, although I don't seem to end up there often. I like Pan or Lolita's Lust which are in the same stretch. Chiado is really nice. It's not cheap, white tablecloths, very good service, good seafood - I've really enjoyed the few times I've been there.

sher-e-punjab is very yummy indian food. don't miss the chicken tikka masala! service can be a little slow if they're busy, so ask for all the water you need at the beginning of your meal! they also have very pretty wall hangings, which i like, and they open the front windows to the street in the summer. it's on the danforth, which is generally a cool neighbourhood.

far niente is a very good choice. there's also a great little wine bar in the basement called "soul of the vine" which has a similar menu with slightly lower prices and a slightly more friendly/casual atmosphere. lots of fun.

The Red Tomato is on King St. in the Theatre District. It shares the location with Fred's Not Here. Both are good and are always busy. La Pecherie, I believe, is the fish restaurant of Movenpick's Yorkville location. A little touristy for me but I've eaten there and it always has a lineup. We go to Avli as often as we can-love their lamb shank and mixed plate of humous, olive appetizer and teramousalata with warm, grilled pitas.

Sorry, missed your point about romantic.
Try Marcel's Bistro or its downstairs restaurant which has the most romantic courtyard patio out back. It's a few doors from the Red Tomato. Or go to Panorama in the Manulife Centre (on Bloor St). Fabulous view of the city, eat hors d'ouerves to keep prices down, and then head downstairs to the Cineplex VIP viewing rooms for a romantic movie. Get you tickets ahead of time because they are limited in size. Or eat at the Bloor Street Diner or the Grill in the same building.
