We are vacationing in either Sooke area for hiking the beaches and Sooke regional park for some good day hikes or we would go to Tofino and hike and walk Long Beach area. Don't know which would be the "better" one. Also just to enjoy the area for being there Any suggestions from someone who has done both?

If you have the time, Tofino, hands down. The Sooke area is lovely, don't get me wrong, but Tofino is magical.

Tofino any day.

Both are nice but, Tofino has the best beaches and hiking trails. Not much for beaches at Sooke.
