Opinnion / author-driven single city tourism sites
Can anyone point me to any Canadian-based web sites that concentrate on one community or district, and are clearly the work of an opinionated, "editorial-related" editor, rather than a typical "everything is great here" tourism department site, or a listings site like Toronto.com?
And I'm not thinking of here, valyuable as I think this site is.
I'd like to see what exists before I start one myself.
Thanks
BAK

I think these sites are mostly blogs and not websites. I get a newsletter from Cabot Shores and they have a blog on the Cabot Shores website that focuses on Cape Breton Island--not the area you are looking for. Some hotel sites will list their favorite activities. I love when I find sites that list an author's favorites.
JudyinCalgary who used to post here had a very helpful blog on the Canadian Rockies. I know I checked a couple years ago and it no longer existed. I do miss her posts on Fodors. She really helped me when I planned our first visit.
I have a travel guide on Lake Tahoe by Ken Castle--bought it before I used the internet for travel and always thought it was one of the best travel guides I ever bought. It was divided into chapters and each chapter started with a list---the "Authors Choice". It would love to find a site like that when I am planning a trip
