Nova Scotia...help

Planning an Aug. vacation with kids (10 & 13)to NS and surrounding islands for 10 days. What are the best places to go (and in what order) for that duration?

Scroll on down, search the web, visit your local bookstore to peruse (or even buy) a tour guide, or two or more...whereby you'll be able to determine all that would be most appealing to you and your kids...

Hi Anner, To make it simple since you have some time to go,you can order a FREE Vacation Planning Kit-the toll free number is: 1-800-565-0000 or visit
www.novascotia.com/discover

Also go to www.exploreNS.com

Go to Cape Breton-a spectacular drive. Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay,Lunenburg,
Beaches-go to the West coast of Cape breton & Bras d'or Lakes. Try the Digby scallops & atlantic salmon, fresh from the sea lobster etc.
Enjoy Celtic music.

Dear anner if its breathtaking scenery you want Cape Breton is the place. (1) Cabot Trail (2) Baddeck (3) Fortress of Louisbourg (4) Glace Bays Miners Museum are a few to mention. Explore the Island at your own pace. You won't have a problem with keeping the kids busy either we have something for everyone to do from horseback riding to Swimming in the Atlantic Ocean.in august you'll find some festivals going on such as aug 3 to 4 the louisbourg crab festival. In Sydney the week of august 4 to 12 you'll have Action Week, Aug 18th louisbourgs race through time & aug 20th to 25th The Cape Breton Exhibition in North Sydney & on Aug 18& 19 its Festival of Cape Breon Fiddling in St. Ann's this is just a taste of what to expect in August. Really there is no wrong choice on where to go & what to see. Take your time & Enjoy!!!!!

Well, with that age group I would probably recommend PEI for sure. Lots of theme parks, etc. Nova Scotia is awesome of course - if early August you might just make the Buskers Festival (not sure when it happens). Great time for all. Halifax has a lot to offer including museums, great surfing site in Lawrencetown, whale watching, etc. What do your kids like to do?
