We're doing bed and breakfast in Niagara Falls with two English ladies, and are looking for recommendations for good restaurants for dinner.!

Muriel - I was in Niagra a week ago and had a good meal in the Table Rock Restaurant. The view was so tremendous it didn't matter how good the food was. Check this out.

http://albums.photopoint.com/j/ViewP...946&p=23429161

Have a good time.

Gary

Hi Muriel, it is on the Canadian side, right next to Horseshoe Falls, you can not miss it. The restaurant is on the second floor of the building there, that holds a gift shop and other stores on the 1st floor.

Any other questions let me know. What ever you do do not miss the Butterfly Conservatory.

Have fun, Gary.

Hi Gary:

Thanks for further information. Most kind of you.

Will definitely not miss the Butterfly Conservatory. We'll be coming in along the Parkway, from Niagara on the Lake, and I believe it is on the right hand side as you approach Niagara Falls.

My husband is pleased with the recommendation, because he's been somewhat "off" butterflies since we went to see them in Rhodes some years ago. We entered a shady glade, (along with hundreds of other tourists) and then the 'keepers' clapped their hands, and thousands of brown moths (at least that's what they looked like) rose into the air, then settled again in the trees. What a disappointment!

However, I understand from the web-site for the conservatory that they have 2000 plus butterflies, and many different species. (There might be the odd 'mothy' looking one, but among monarchs and others who'll notice!)

Thanks again Gary.

Muriel

All of the Canadian Parks Commission restaurants are fabulous! Awesome views from Table Rock and Victoria Park - with excellent "early bird" menus as well. In the summertime, though, it's best to reserve in advance. You can do this by calling the 800 number a their website.

Hi Lesley, and Also Donna.

Try Table Rock on Internet through one of search engines, and you should be able to access it.Unfortunately, they don't take reservations.

Looks wonderful though!

Muriel

Muriel, or Leslie, or whoever posted above message: ALL the Niagara Parks Commission restaurants accept reservations (I wouldn't have recommended reserving if this were not possible). See http://www.niagaraafalls.org/dining/family-idx.html - there's even a toll free number for calling to make reservations. Note also that there's a small bar with stools near the windows at Table Rock where we enjoyed excellent cappuccinos while resting one afternoon...

Oh, yes! All of the Niagara Parks restaurants are fabulous! And, you can reserve ahead at the toll free number, and you should. Wonderful food, magnificent views, friendly service too. My wife and I very much enjoyed each and every one of them. The "smart" folks, in the know, make reservations and are seated forthwith! If what you have in mind is good food with incredible views, go immediately to that website!

I just wanted to add that you should make sure when planning on dining anywhere by the falls you should be ready to spend alot of money. Especially with the niagara parks commission restaurants. I know this because I live in NIagara Falls and work on The people mover buses. People are always complaining about how expensive the dining is. Make sure you see the butterflys, wear bright clothes and lots of perfume.

I'm with Donna on this. The Parks Commission restaurants are fabulous! We just returned from a week at the Falls. We booked "early bird" tables at Victoria Park (on the deck) and Table Rock. The prices were surely not "expensive" considering the quality of the food (and friendly service), selection, and magnificent views! Not the "ripoff" one would expect. We were positively thrilled (we reserved) with the "early bird" menu and VIEWS at the revolving restaurant above the Falls. We ended up ordering from the "regular" menu (even more appealing choices). We were not disappointed, rather, impressed with our meals. Spectacular! Wonderful food, generous, beautifully presented. As for the prices, with the favorable exchange rates, they were most reasonable. You can "fill up" for far less. But, if you're after fine food at fairly reasonable prices with those VIEWS, you just can't go wrong with those Parks Commission restaurants. Best to reserve, though. Obviously, many others consider these places worth the tariff as well.
