CBC open house, Toronto

I was going to mention this in a thread to some visitors to Toronto, and then realized more people may be interested.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corp is holding an open house tomorrow --Saturday Oct 1 -- at CBC building, 250 Front Street West.

It's free, and things start at 7 a.m. and end around 5 pm.

I'll be there.

They are having an open house in Edmonton too (downtown, across from Winston Churchill Square) - celebrating 75 years.

Just home from the Toronto open house.

Nice to meet in person some of the people I see on television, and or follow on Twitter.

Town Hall show hosted by Carole McNeil featured four current or former foreign correspondants, and will be broadcast onCBC 1 on Thanksgiving Monday. A question I asked may be included.

I went early and was surprised so few were there - talking to a friend I realized we'd been before when HQ opened and it was jammed that weekend. I bought a Mr. Dress-up mug I still have.

Would have liked to hang around to hear the foreign correspondents but Nuit Blanche was looming - we lived in the same building in Willowdale years ago with another family with a young son just a bit older than our eldest - the two little guys played together often. Both families went our separate ways so now I know what he's up to - would have liked to ask about his parents.
