Queenstown,NZ lakefront accomodations

Can anyone suggest a *** lakefront accomodation in Queenstown? We will be traveling 36 hours and need a quiet place to recover before a campervan tour of the S.I.
Thanks!

I highly recommend http://www.villadellago.co.nz/. These apartments are a 20 minute walk along the lake to the heart of Queenstown. They are comfortable and the managers couldn't do enough for us when we visited February 2008. We plan to book there for our upcoming trip.

I've also stayed at Villa De Lago several times, and highly recommend it, but keep it mind it's a bit off the beaten track.

To clarify - it's the quietest place we've found in QT, but it may not be everyone's cuppa due to the distance from the center of QT. It might be a bit of a challenge to park a campervan in their lot, suggest you look into that before you book.

Good point, Melnq8, about the parking. If the managers are still as "hop to it" as they were when we visited they may have a suggestion so be sure to contact them.

Thanks to Everyone! We don't plan to pick up the campervan until we are ready to leave Queenstown. The Villa De Lago sounds perfect. I love off the beaten track!

Another vote for Villa Del Lago.....We stayed there for almost a week last Christmas and couldn't have been more pleased with the accomodation. The proprietor and her visiting Grandaughters even came around on Christmas Day and brought us a lovely gift!
