bringing vitamins to Australia

I will be visiting friends in Sydney in November. One of them has asked me to bring them a bottle of vitamin C tablets from my local drugstore. Is that ok to bring to Australia? Thanks

Yes, it's all right - but why on earth does your friend want you to? Do they have some magic ingredient unknown here?

Not sure, but that is her request. She generally stocks up when she comes to the US, but I will be in Sydney before she gets back to the US.

Fair enough. They must be cheaper in the US - can't think of any other reason.

Hasn't your friend visited a supermarket here? You can buy Vitamin C tablets off the shelf anywhere and everywhere.

Does he/she think Australian VitC is somehow different from the VitC on the rest of the planet.

I am not getting at you, OP, but I do seriously wonder about your friends.

I'd better say no more, or else I'll get into my usual ignorant American rant.

But you do wonder, don't you, hey?

It does seem a strange request. Just make sure the bottle is clearly labelled explaining the contents and leave it sealed. What customs hate is something they can't identify. They may also think it odd that your friend wants Vit C tabs as you can get them anywhere here and pretty cheaply I would think.

We do have oranges and other citrus fruit in Australia.
Do you think your friend might like a nice piece of fruit instead of a pill?
