Where to buy imitation golf clucs in Hong Kong?

Does anyone know?

To be clear: I am not talking about "illegal" fake goods, like someone making a golf club that looks like a Ping or Callaway and put a Ping or Callaway stamp on it. I am talking about clubs that are look-alike but do not have the fake logos.

I can see many imitation putters in golf shops in Canada and US, but I have not seen many imitation drivers and clubs. I heard that you can buy them in Hong Kong but don't know where. Since they are not like clothings I suspect you have to go to specific places to find them.

Thanks

I think real golf clubs work best. Pass the imitation maple syrup, please.

SOMETIMES imitation clubs might work better...

Imitation clubs and me,
or real clubs and Tiger Woods?

(Of course, I doubt Tiger buys imitation clubs.)

I live in Hong Kong, and will ask around here, and will re-post if I find out any info. You can buy Ping and Callaway clubs here, some say they are a bit cheaper and thre is also no sales tax, I can list those places as well, if you will be here you can at least look to compare prices.

Thanks Cicerone.

I did find a couple of on-line stores (I believe they are in Hong Kong, but did not save the addresses), and their price on Ping and Callaway is about 10% cheaper ($30-40 cheaper, on a ~$350 driver). For that it is not much incentive to buy and carry it all the way back home.

I live in Canada. A Ping putter would cost about $150-170, but an imitation one would cost about $50. All the big golf stores here stock both the brand names and the imitations. But I have to admit that I've only seen imitation putters here, but not clubs, hybrids or drivers.

Johnmango - Sorry to say I have not had any luck in leads for you. My golfer friends say you can find fake clubs, but not what I would call "private label" or imitation clubs. I am not a huge golfer and neither are my friends, so I am not be a good source for this. You might want to ask when you get here. I also looked in Suzy Gersham's book on shopping in Hong Kong and some books on expat livng, but could not find any info. Sorry I could not be more helpful.

Thanks Cicerone ... you have been an invaluable resource on Hong Kong at this Fodor site.

The "club" is just a curiosity for me. If you separate the "needs" from the "wants", there really isn't much that I've got to have. Actually there are on-line stores in the US where I can get brand name drivers and irons at a very good price.

Thanks again. John
