Visa's for Vietnam and Cambodia

The CDC and other sites are confusing regarding what you actually need for travel to Vietnam and Cambodia. We are going to only the main areas and not going off the beaten track. Can anyone tell me what is needed.

Additionally do we need to take maleria medications?

Thanks

The cdc doesn't have anything to do with visas. There are no immunizations or medication required to get a visa for either of these countries.

On the other hand, it is wise to have all of your routine vaccines up to date: tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella. You should have the Hep A vaccine even if you are staying at home. The typhoid vaccine is recommended for these areas.

Please consult with a travel medicine professional before you go. Do read and print out the cdcd recommendations, and ask questions if any recommendations from the travel clinic are different from those in the cdc pages.

Vietnam:If you live near a city with a Vietnamese consulate, fill out forms, attach photo, you drop your passport off for a week, return and pick it up with Visa attached , pay fee.Or mail to the Vietnam Embassy in Washington, pay fee, receive passport with Visa by return mail.No waiting on line in airport. Or use a more expensive agency.
Cambodianline at government website..T Fill out forms. Upload your photo, pay fee,$25.00, do it all online,24 hours later Visa arrives, print it out, attach to Passport. Done. No waiting online in airport.. easy.

Take a visa picture and $20 with you to Cambodia. Fill out the form, wait 3 or 4 minutes, and they'll let you in. Vietnam has to be done in advance.

An Internet search will turn up plenty of agencies, including some hotels, which will arrange for a Vietnam visa to be waiting for you at the airport in Hanoi or HCMC. The cost, including the $25 US fee at the airport itself, will be cheaper than using Vietnam's foreign embassies.
