Trip Report
My wife and I just returned form our trip to Thailand. What a wonderful time we had. The weather was hot, and the few times of rain was not a problem. Short bursts and then it’s over.
We did all the Bangkok suggestions; temples, shopping and more sight seeing. We took one day, 13 hours actually, and went to Kanchanaburi which was the highlight of our trip. We had the most outstanding guide named tong ([email protected]). She spoke excellent English and was so much fun. She picked us up at our hotel at 6:30 a.m. for a long day of activities. She has a beautiful new car that was so comfortable and cool. We did activities such as: feeding the monkeys, the Bridge over the River Kwai (where we had excellent meal), riding elephants, visiting a cave, and tiger temple to name a few. If anyone is looking for a licensed guide that speaks excellent English give her an email. She is a super guide to get for Bangkok or the surrounding areas. She is not only a great guide, but also a super person.
We also spent one day and went north to Ayutthaya. We left the hotel on a chartered bus and came back by boat. We saw temples and ruins, which my wife really liked. There was an excellent buffet on the boat trip which we both enjoyed.
We really had a good time and would recommend Thailand to anyone. It’s an experience that you’ll always remember.

tong charges, in my opinion, are very reasonable, by US standards. 3000 bahts by minivan for 10 hours with 300 baht per additional hour. If she goes out of Bangkok, like she did for us, she has a small charge for gasoline.
