All this discussion of Angkor seems incredible to me. When I was there in 1992 we saw a total of 2 other tourists in the 3 days we were there. Our hotel (which is now Raffles) was a hell hole and it was the best in town. There were several temples we couldn't go to because of Khmer Rouge activity and children were still so shell shocked they ran away when they saw us. We spent a lot of time trying to coach them closer. I thought Cambodia was one of the most heart breaking places I've ever been to. I have been contributing ever since to a children's hospital there. I am forever grateful that I got there and I tell everyone to go, cherish the people, wonder at the wonderful sights and SPEND MONEY. The people have gone through hell and deserve our support.

I also think the beach is your least interesting choice.

Yep i too must admit I wasn't mooved by Angkor. yet I would and do recomend going just just too see one of the worlds great historical sites. 1-2 is enough..

I too have pounded the globe hard. seen the Pyramids. Petra and some others. so I guess I must of been "wondered out". I must say that they all had anoying touts yet I get that all the time as a single guy just walking aimlessly all over the place.
