Beijing:Holiday Inn Central PLaza

Has anyone ever heard of it?Stayed there?Enjoyed the stay? What was the bedroom like , the pool like , the hotel like , the area like , is there any preferable place I should stay at, is the metro close , the restaurants , Tianan'men , shopping areas?
I've been to Beijing before , I was a teenager and that was 25 years ago , so I'd like some new information please!
Thank you!

I think this hotel is near WangFuJing. A very busy and great shopping area in general, but the street it is on is pretty quiet. It should only be a few minutes from the metro and it is relatively close to the forbidden city. If I am not mistaken, it is only 1 stop on the metro.

I like the area very much, as it is very convenient. Last July I stayed at the Grand Hyatt which is only 5 min. away from the Holiday Inn and it was heavenly.

By the way, the metro in Beijing is not the most convenient, because there are only 2 lines. But it does cover most of the sight-seeing and shopping areas.

How long will you be in Beijing?

Hello travelfeet!
Sorry for the long time it took me to answer your answer !I'll be in Beijing for 6 full days with my son and a young cousin , so I'm trying to make it the best , not boring (to teenager standards!), fun , exciting stay ever!
I intend to take them to the Opera , see acrobats , muslim belly dancing , eat ants and scorpios , try all possible chinese regional food , visit the most popular monuments and mostly wander on the streets! The only thing we'll do out of Beijing is of course go the Great Wall.
We want to enjoy being there and I'd like my family to open up to China. Our point is not to visit Beijing , Xian , and Shangai in a week (though I'm not criticising those who do so , of course!).

Holiday Inn Central Plaza IS NOT near Wangfujing. That is the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza.

The hotel is not close to the city centre or WangFuJing. Exactly it's quite far from Tiananmen Square and may take an hour by car/bus during rush hour. Strongly advise you to stay within the city centre.

Sorry my mistake!! I thought that was the Holiday Inn near wangfujin.

You should definitely find a hotel in city centre if possible. Maybe try the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza

I have made reservation online for many times. There are lots of hotel choices and the rates are really cheap.
Maybe you can find a better hotel. Just for recommendation:
www.sinohotel.com
and another:
www.elong.net
