Pattaya
My boyfriend and I are traveling to Pattaya in about a week. We're staying at the Sheraton, which I've heard is gorgeous. But, from what I've read, nights in Pattaya can be a little on the seedy side. We're definitely not home bodies, so we'll be looking for some nightlife. Anyone had any personal experiences or advice? Thank you!

a friend just stayed at the new sheraton and her reports are that it is fantastic.....it is away from downtown which is a positive...
the nightlife is a bit seedy...well not a bit....very seedy....but that will not dampen your stay....enjoy it for what it is....
your boy friend will feel he has died and gone to heaven if you allow him out on his own....not recommended!!
one great restaurant on the walking street is lobster trap....give it a try...
walk around after 9 PM and soak up the rauncy culture....plenty of other things to do as well...

Hi
I just got back from the Sheraton and it is gorgeous!! Unfortunately...or maybe fortuanely..I did not get to see the night life since I just broke my foot. In daytime I went to a fantastic restaurant called Casa Pascal right across from the Marriott and of course they have dinners too. I am sure if you contact some of the larger hotels - the Dusit, Marriott, Royal Cliff etc they may have some entertainment. As wonderful as Sheraton is remember that it is new and not everything is open. You will feel like a princess for your stay as they cannot do enough for you. Enjoy Pattaya

Pattaya used to be very seedy many years ago but the place has been straightened out a lot in recent times. Sure you'll see bars everywhere and plenty of Thai girls entertaining customers, in the Walking Street you'll see the ladyboys prancing around, but all this is pretty harmless stuff. There are more heavy-duty things happening in Pattaya but these are behind closed doors and you won't come across them unless one goes searching.
But you can have a ball in Pattaya, enjoy great food, excellent shopping, plenty of activities.

Lots to do, it's a city in it's own right, small industries and businesses, so it's not just the tourist areas. The Alangkran Show is great if you like sounds/light/thai classic style show, Underwaterworld, para-sail down from pattaya Tower and such, lots of activities, mini siam, lots of shopping, street stalls, and a couple of bars!
