Family of 3 with teenager reaching Bangkok in mid March at 10 AM (Day 1). Plan to explore Bangkok for a day and then need ideas for remaining 4 days.

Plan to fly out from Phuket instead of Bangkok on Day 5 (late flight close to mid night so should be able to enjoy the whole day)

Where should we stay in Bangkok? I have Hilton status so can get free breakfast.

Should we hire taxi? We are good at using public transport too.

Where else should we go for next 4 days? We have heard about southern part of Thailand and beaches. ? island hopping ? animal sanctuary.

We love Thai food. We enjoy sigh seeing (fast paced) and don't mind some nice resort on the beach (do they have their own private beaches?)

Will appreciate help with itinerary/hotels/places to eat recommendations.

I gather that day is Day 1, the day you arrive at 10AM and on Day 2 after only 1 night in Bangkok you plan to fly off to somewhere else. Is that correct?

A relevant question is: where are you arriving from? How long is the trip / time change in getting there?

You haven't got time (4 days??) for "island hopping". Am I wrong or this is right??
From Phuket you might want to do a day on another island.


Best way to get around BKK is by MRT and BTS urban railways.
Failing that use a taxi (metered?)
Don't bother with tuk-tuks they try to take you to places where they get commission.
