Miyajima

trying to find a place to stay for 1 night in Miyajima and striking out at the more popular places. Any suggestions to stay on the island?

I checked a Japanese travel site and the reviews for Kinsuikan seem mostly good (54 positive 3 complains). Personally, I think their prices are a little too high for what they are offering.

We enjoyed Ryokan Jukeiso. They will pick you up and bring you back to the ferry. Baths, dinner and view from our room were great. You can save money by skipping breakfast.

I tried all of those web sites, but came upon this one:

http://www.itcj.jp/index.html

..although they have less of an amount of ryokan's on their site; in order for the ryokan to be recommended by this site, it must not charge more than 8-10,0000 yen per person, per night. Which as you will find out is a great rate. Also, they will do the booking for you for free. Enjoy!

We are staying at Kinsuikan ryokan in May. We booked through Japanese Guest Houses. I'll post when we return.

When are you planning on staying? What type of accomodation were you hoping to find?
