Kaili

Hi There,

We are travelling between Kunming and Yangshuo in September and are thinking about a detour to Kaili. I am just wondering if anyone has any insight on Kaili regarding places to stay, things to do, thoughts regarding the area, etc. Also, I know there is a train between Kunming and Kaili however what is the best way to travel between Kaili and either Longsheng or Gulin.

In fact,Though the area around Guizhou southeast were less visited by the tourists compare to other touristy cities, such as Beijing,Xian,Shanghai,Guilin,Lijiang and so on. Because it was historically one of the poorest and remote places in china.so It has maintained isolation and backwater for a long time in the history, Their unique and ancient cultures which included unsophisticated ethnic customs, fantastic architecture, traditional art and habits will give you a brand new impression and feeling in your mind.By the way,The travel route between Guilin and Kali across southeast of Guizhou province has already become more and more famous as well as from mouth to mouth in the recent years among the foreigner tourists...

In Kaili, you can enjoy the culture of China's Miao and Dong ethnic minorities.

Thanks for the information. Does anyone have a suggestion on a route to travel between Kaili and Guilin? With sites to see on the way. Plus does anyone have recommendations for a place to stay in Kaili?

I have found alot of information however the majority of what I have found is from tour companies and not independent travellers. The area looks amazing and has caught our attention I am just wondering how it will be for travelling without an organized group.
The route includes:
Day 1 Kaili - Rongjiang
Day 2 Rongjiang - Conjiang - Zhuoxing
Day 3 Zhuoxing - Sanjiang - Longsheng
Day 4 Longsheng - Yangsuo
