Jim Thompson Outlets
I am familiar with the JT House and outlets in the Emporium Shopping center as well as the Marriot S&R. I have searched the Web and am confused as to which are outlets for clothing, furnishings, etc.
Would someone please let me know EXACTLY what is primarily available at each outlet and the location of each.
I appreciate this -- maybe now I won't get lose.

Note that there is a main JT store, and many, many branches (that carry regular-priced merchandise). There are also two outlet stores that carry discounted (discontinued) JT merchandise. I thought I had one of the JT cards here, but of course, I can't find it. Every JT store has cards that show all branches and the two outlets. The main store is on Suriwong, and is well worth the visit as it carries the full range of JT items. There is an outlet store a couple of blocks from there that carries only yard-goods. There is also an outlet on a high numbered soi (90 something) off of Sukhumvit that carries a full range of discontinued merchandise.

The factory outlet out on Sukhumvit soi 93 has clothes, bags, cushion covers, table settings, etc. The 1st and 2nd floors have only frabics but the 3rd has all the other items. Prices are about half of those in the regular shops but are still the same great quality, just not the season's latest fabrics. Examples of price - make-up bag 380 baht, cushion covers 220, t-shirts adult 390, kids 240, 2 and 4 settings placemat set/napkins 540 and 1240 and small toy elephant 180. Note that it closes at 5pm.
To get there take the skytrain to the On Nut station (last station on the Sukhumvit line at soi 81).From here it is about a 35 baht taxi ride.

the other outlet is on the same street, suriwong, as the main store...it is closer to the river on the same side of the street as the main store....we like to go to the main store first to see the current merchandise and check out the prices and then go over to the both outlets...
this outlet above is 99% fabrics and only a small selection...you could view it all in 10 minutes...they are very nice in both outlets btw...
soi 93 is an excellent place to spend 1 hour or more....they will get you a taxi when you leave also....ask the door man...
i just looked at the JT card kathie was referring to above and mine does not, interestingly, have the outlet addresses on it... in any case the shop is on the left hand side of soi 93, down about 2 city clocks down from sukhumvit...just watch for the large brown jim thompson sign....same as the other shops...
the main store by the way has tons more selection than do the satelite shops in the hotels and emporium, etc...it also has a great cafe for lunch...very cheap unlike the merchandise...
one other note, about 4 times per year JT has a warehouse sale in a convention center outside bkk....there is at least one this fall and then there are a couple in december...i am attending the one dec 3....they are always on sundays and start about 10AM...its a madhouse!!! they are fantastic and there is tons of merchandise available up to 90% off the regular price...there is not too much fabric however....their website list such sales for the year...i think it is listed under "promotions" or special sales...

I always go to 2 - the one at Suriwong Rd which is the main shop and the discount outlet at Soi 93. By covering these 2 you will see everything. In addition there is a small one in Central Chitlom department store which can be convenient if you are shopping in Central.

soi 93 is a good choice, but remember is it an outlet not a regular store and the selections are limited but are discount priced....a visit to the main store is well worth the experience....the main store is in itself not a big shop...two floors basically plus the home interiors/fabric section which many do not visit...
at soi 93 go to the 3rd floor first...

Bob,
How do you know there will be a sale 3-Dec? Their website says the December dates are not announced yet. Any idea when the other December date will be (10-Dec)? I check here...http://www.jimthompson.com/event_calendar/index.asp
