We're planning a short trip to Chiangmai in early May to escape the heat back home in Singapore. However, just realised that the temperatures in Chiangmai can hit 40C.

Can anybody help in telling us whether it is indeed that hot at this time? Is it a good time to visit? Any other suggestions then? Thanks in advance!

Hi there,
I live in Singapore also and have been to CM in May. It definitely IS that hot. Nov-Feb is a much better time for that area.
If you want to escape our equatorial steam in May you will have to head SOUTH to New Zealand or parts of Australia. It will be early winter there.

It is very hot here at the moment and is likely to stay that way for most of May. However, we don't have the humidity that you have in Singapore.

That's a bummer then. We don't really want to fly south to A/NZ as we're really planning a 4/5 day break. But thanks for the help/information tho' ..

Have you thought off one of the Indian Hill Stations, where the Memsahibs used to go to escape the heat?
