Dogster--keep in mind that wordpress.com is imprisoning you. It's blog software, not book software. You can't really do what you want to elegantly. You've been remarkably creative in trying to work around the constraints. Remember, these are not constraints of the media but of wordpress.com.

Yes, I agree Marija. It's been great to play with, but the limitations are certainly apparent. Seeing as I'm using the wrong medium, that could be why. The designer in me can't help but play around. I threw elegance out the window a week ago. Now it has all the sophistication of a child with a pile of brightly colored building blocks. lol lol lol. But it's technicolor and unique, albeit clunky - rather like an elderly drag queen at dawn. We'll all see what tomorrow brings.

Elephant, microwave. lol lol lol. I'm still thinking about that.
