China Trains-Soft Sleeper

Will be traveling from Shanghai to Xi'an then on to Beijing. Can't seem to find out if there's a soft sleeper from Shanghai to Xi'an. Another question, why is it twice as much to get to Xi'an then going from Shanghai to Beijing. Thanks for your help.

Hi Sue

This web site shows that there is a Z92 from Shanghai to Xian at 19:58 pm:

And plenty of T and K trains, too (although a bit slower) which have soft sleepers.

The T164 is 490 RMB and T104 to Beijing is 478. Far from twice as much.

Where were you looking to be so different?

Hi Sue

The higher price may be due to the super deluxe cabin with only 2/cabin as opposed to 4/cabin.

Suggest checking seat61.com for info and links for Chinese trains. The price will be affected by the style - 2-berth deluxe vs. 4-berth soft-sleeper, and distance.
