Cambodia Visa

Hi--- On Oct 13, we mailed (certerfied)our passports, Visa application, photos, certified check to Cambodian Embassy in Wash DC. Two weeks ago we rec'd a cetified green card that paper work was rec'd.
Previously, we did the same for VN visas and rec'd passport & visas back in much shorter time.
Does anyone know how long Camobia embassy takes to process visa requests when all paper work is correct. It will be returned (hopefully) in our self addressed stamped anvelope, certified. When is the question.
Thanks.

Only the Cambodian Embassy can tell you when your passports will be mailed back to you. Check their website and call them.

I sent my via regular mail in the end of October with a return express mail envelope. Got it back in 2 weeks. So I would call. Sounds strange.

Rec'd visas back a day or two after posting. Thanks for the replies.
Does anyone know if we can request Laos & Myanmar visas more than 3 months prior to arrival, if so desired. VN & Cambodia had no time constraints, but it appears Laos/Myanmar do.Will arrive Myanmar 3/9/06 & Laos 3/16.
Thanks.

Express mailed visa applications and passports for spouse and me with a USPS money order and a pre-paid express mail return envelope last Wednesday - received our passports back today - total time door to door = 8 days. Now I get to do the visas for Laos...

Just wondering... 30 day Cambodian Visa's are available for 20 USD at the countries 2 international airports (Phnom Penh and Siem Raep) for 20 USD and at all international land border crossings for 1000-1200 THB... why would one want all the hassle for mailing a passport to the nearest Cambodian Embassy?

Because I don't want to waste valuable vacation time waiting in line.

We just returned from Cambodia and Vietnam. Did Visa on arrival at Hanoi and Phnom Penh and it took less than 15 minutes at each. The luggage had not even arrived yet in Phnom Penh by the time we were done getting the Visa.

Connette - you must have had a pre-arranged visa at Hanoi, as there is no visa on arrival in VN.

(Visa on arrival means something very specific - that you arrive, not pre-announced in any way, and can purchase a visa for cash plus a passport photo or two. Sorry if I sound picky, but people sometimes do read these boards and proceed without further research. You will not be allowed on a plane to VN without a visa in your passport or the e-mail confirmation of a pre-arranged visa.)

Yes Kathie - you are absolutely right. We had a double entry visa letter (emailed to us) to show at the airport that we were getting our visa on arrival for Vietnam. Very easy to get both Visas without mailing our passports away. One should never proceed anywhere without researching the requirements on their destination, same as vaccinations, etc. Just read a horrible story of some folks who did not check to find out that they needed a passport for a Tahiti cruise and did not find out until they tried to board the plane.

How easy is it to get Visa's at the airport in Cambodia ?

We are going in the 3rd week of feb to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and Siam Reap. How safe is travel ? Are there any special "do not miss" things to do with my young girls ages 8 and 11. We adored the floating market in Bangkok and would enjoy a similar experience.

Thanks

It is very easy to get a visa at the airport upon arrival in Cambidua (either Siem Reap or PP). You must arrange a visa in advance for VN.
