Bali...where to stay?

I am planning on going to Bali for my honeymoon. Any recommendations for a great quiet place to stay? Prefer villa or so, something by the beach, and something pretty quiet.

We were in Bali in November, 2000. Check out the Pansea Puri Hotel in Jimbaran. They have a website and reservations can be made over the internet, but recommend faxing credit card information after arrangements are agreed upon. Small, beautiful, on beach, very private rooms, great food. No commercial hawkers, very professional staff. In interior of Bali, consider the Bali Spirit near Ubud. Again, it is small and beautiful.

I was in Bali last year and, in my opinion, the ONLY place to stay [especially for a honeymoon] is the OBEROI. It' away from the hectic pace of downtown, is secluded, has their own private 1 mile long beach and they have 15 private villas [8 with swimming pools] We have been everywhere and I don't think we've ever had accomidations nicer than these villas.

hi j, <BR> I've travelled a fair bit in bali and by far the best town is KUTA. one of the best beaches on the island, excellant food and you are really spoilt for choice as far as accomodation goes. The local shopping is great and the setting sun over the sea is stunning.

You might try the Bali Travel Forum and ask for advice. I was in Bali from Oct 21st to November 4. I stayed at three different hotels. You can read about my experiences if you like. You might find that one of the hotels interests you...at minimum you will get a glimpse of one's travels to Bali. <BR> <BR>Just Back Part One - Nusa Dua <BR>http://www.balitravelforum.com/archive200011/11773.html <BR> <BR>Just Back Part Two - Kerobokan <BR>http://www.balitravelforum.com/archive200011/12186.html <BR> <BR>Just Back Part III - Tanjung Benoa <BR>http://www.balitravelforum.com/archive200012/14715.html <BR> <BR>www.BaliTravelForum.com will get you to their main page to ask your own questions. If you want peace and tranquility, don't deprive yourself of a trip to Northern Bali. I spent a week in Bali last summer. The first couple nights were in Tulamben at Mimpi Resort - a wonderful small hotel - affordable - very peaceful - completely different landscape than southern Bali.<BR><BR><BR><BR>

Dear J<BR>save yourself a lot of trouble and take my advice! The Ritz Carlton Jimbaran Bay period! A wonderful location, quiet easy to get anywhere by taxi. I have stayed at this hotel several times and by far the best resort grounds and service I have ever experienced. In addition, for a Ritz it's very reasonable with the rupiah down. I am sure your bride to be will remember this place for a life time!<BR>Wherever you stay in Bali you will love this Island. Good luck Scott

I have stayed at some of the finest hotels in the world and the Begawan Giri Estate in Bali takes the cake. Small (22 rooms), incredible service (5 to 1 staff to guest ratio, romantic (the gardens took 3 years and 200 people to build). Check it out at www.begawan-giri.com. You will not be disappointed. <BR> <BR>Anywhere you stay, you will fall in love with Bali. <BR> <BR>email me if you have questions.
