What would be the best area in Asia to visit this August? We have around 10 days.

Where haven't you been? What interests you? Asia is a large continent!

I have been to Korea, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong.

My daughter has only been to Korea & Philippines.

why not give vietnam or cambodia a try, shantai? but actually the whole of asia on this side is monsoon season around that time, but if that doesn't bother you, then happy travels!

Bali would have good weather at this time of year.

If you are adventurous, you can have an indochina trail. Indochina countries (Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos plus Thailand) are so close to each other that you can go from one country to another either by bus or train. Although there's nothing much to see in Myanmar and Laos yet Cambodia and Vietnam is worth visiting.

I agree with Bella Bluebell---August is a fantastic time to visit Bali. In fact, it is considered a peak travel season there. Their rainy season is around December-February.

I must totally disagree with agent101--there is loads to see in Myanmar. Of all the countries in SEAsia I have visited (most of them) Burma (Myanmar) was my favorite. Yangon, Bagan and Inle Lake are all worth going to. In Laos, Luang Prabang is more than worth the trip and a stop in Vientienne is warranted.

laurie is correct...there is tons to see in myanmar...

bali's high season is winding down in august so it would be a great time there...
