What time does Miami Int. Airport customs & immigration open?
I can't find this online but maybe I'm missing it. Also, I don't want to trust older information since this area underwent a renovation in July.
We're arriving from Quito on Nov. 10th (Saturday) about 4am. I've had to wait at LAX for an 8am opening in the past, so I'm wondering if this might be the same kind of wait. We're US citizens but I hear the line is combined now. Or maybe that's changed since August too. Not that that will make customs open earlier!
Thanks for any help.

Immigration will be open if there are any international flights landing. Your statement about LAX confuses me - are you saying you landed from overseas and had to hang around because there were no immigration desks open?

I doubt any international flight will be scheduled to arrive during hours that Immigration is not open. They wouldn't do that. What I've had happen is to be on a flight that arrives early, before Immigration and Customs open and we've had to wait. Or I've been on a flight that arrives during normal hours, but there was such a backlog in Immigration that we were kept from disembarking until the lines thinned out a bit.

LAX did in fact do this. We'd just arrived from New Zealand about 6am (Dec 2006). We may have been early, but not 2 hours early. The entire plane lined up and sat on the floor until they opened at 8am.
Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like my previous experience was an anomaly.
