Our flight itinerary to Peru changed- Worried!

I received an email from Expedia that one flight departure was changed, one flight arrival was changed, and one flight was cancelled. Oh boy, here we go. I called Expedia and the gal explained that the departure and arrival changes were minor time changes involving 5 minutes. Ok, no big deal, what about the cancellation. We originally had a flight on Delta from Sacramento to Atlanta then Atlanta to Lima. We had a 2 1/2 hour layover in Atlanta. Now we have a flight from Sacramento to Salt Lake City with a 1 hour 3 minute layover, then a flight from SLC to Atlanta with a 1 1/2 hour layover before we leave for Lima.

I am stressed out that the layovers are too short but this was the only option available. I hope that since our first flight out of Sacramento is early enough that it will leave on time and that the two gates are not too far from each other. We have the same flight number for the SLC to Atlanta and Atlanta to Lima legs so that should be fine.

Should I be worried or just take it in stride? I would never book a 3 leg flight....EVER. I am not really happy about the change, but I keep telling myself, when you are on vacation you have to go with the flow.

When are you flying? DL may still have a red-eye from SMF to ATL that you can take instead. Or fly out of SFO.

We are flying out on March 8 and returning on March 31. We considered SFO but that would mean spending the night in SF the night before or trying to talk my hubby into driving us down in the middle of the night and then picking us back up. I will check on the red-eye. Thanks.

Other flight options are 11:59am and 10:35pm. They don't match up well with the 5:10pm fight out to Lima. I did check from SFO to Atlanta. They have a flight that leaves at 7:10am and arrives in Atlanta at 2:41pm. This would work fine with our 5:10pm flight to Lima. I will try and find someone to drive us to SF and then call Expedia back. Hopefully they won't charge us an arm and a leg. Thanks.

Expedia/DL should not charge you a thing. Be insistent. Only person to charge you is your driver.
