Chicago O'Hare Connection Time

We're flying from Austin to Chicago on American, and have a 1 1/2 hr. layover before our flight to Bologna (also on American). Is this enough time?

When I booked the flights, our layover was longer but American has changed the flight times.

Thanks for any input!

That should be enough time for leaving the country.

If you only had that amount time on the return, there would be issues.

Yes, this is enough time. On your outbound to Europe, you will have gone through security in Austin and will land in Chicago airside of security so will not need to go through again. Your luggage will be checked through to Bologna.

As Keith said, this would be a tighter connection on your return as you would need to collect any checked luggage, clear customs and security and change terminals. I've always made it to my connecting gate within about 45 minutes to an hour but it depends on what time you land, weather delays, whether you have checked luggage, etc.

Think OP means it's code share on SN to BLQ via connections in BRU.

You guys are great -- thanks so much for the reassurance. And you're right -- it is through a connection in Brussels.
