Booking on Continental's Site

How much longer will we be able to book on Continental's site? I like it because of the one-way option that is not available on United.
Thanks!

The one-way option is available on United.

But I believe that the current CO site will become the UA site. The one thing they should bring over from ua is the expert mode ability to view booking code availability on flights, including upgrade and award availability.

I meant to say one-way option using FF miles. It is not available on United but is available on Continental.

United has one-way FF awards:

http://www.united.com/page/article/1,,53694,00.html

"Traveling on an award ticket is not one-size-fits all. Now you have the flexibility to choose the award type, class of service and payment method that suit your needs. <b>All United awards are now one way,</b> which means you can fly a Saver Award for one direction of travel and return using a Standard Award. You can also choose a different class of service for each direction."

The one-way option is available on United - for revenue or award tickets.

But you are better off using the Continental site (assuming you have your status matched there and accounts linked).

I also hope they use the continental online site...much nicer thatn the UAL site.

You can do the one way FF tickets here if you click on the "Redeem Miles" tab and chose one-way:

"One-way awards are not available for Star Alliance itineraries online. To book one-way award travel with our Star Alliance partners, please call United Reservations at 1-800-UNITED1."

I didn't realize you were trying to book on partner airlines. Can you do partner airlines on the Continental site now ? Last year I had a Lufthansa leg and Continental made me do it over the phone.

Yes, you can book awards on partner airlines using the continental website. It really is good.

I just noticed today that the "flexible dates" option for revenue tix gives a calendar, like itasoftware does. You give a departure month, O&D, and number of days. It is easy to scroll month to month.

And you can specify fare codes for revenue tix.

I love Continental for booking--United, not so much. Which site will prevail??? When will the change take place?? Surely booking on both sites will not be available indefinitely.

As others have stated, it appears Continental's web site will be the prevailing site and United dot bomb will be going away. In the meantime, why don't you just transfer your United miles over to Continental and complete your booking on Continental dot com?
