Dubai in July. Is it too hot ?
Hi
I am planning a weekend trip to Dubai in early July ( I will be working in India). I was told how hot is there in this season. Can the hot wheather make the tours impossible ? Is it worth ?
The plan is arrive late Friday and leave very late Sunday. Can someone provide me with some tips about what to do there. We will be two women alone.
Thanks in Advance !!

I recommend taking the "Big Red Bus" tour around Dubai. There are two different tours, one in the old Dubai and the other out to the beach area. You can hop on and hop off at any time and you can take a dhow ride up the creek with the purchase of a ticket.
I was there in late September and it was in the 100's but for the most part bearable. Unfortunately it was during Ramadan and couldn't drink water on the street before 6.
Very interesting and beautiful place!

MOST DEFINATELY too hot!
even the UAE citizens leave for europe in order to escape the heat!
if you don't want to be relying on to the ice and skying venues or airconditioned shopping malls, hotels and cars....then postpone to oct e.g.
but solely for shopping: go ahead...

Does someone have a link of this "Big Red Bus" ? Does it have air-conditioned ?
Shopping is not what I am looking for when visiting Dubai but July is when I can go. Since the safaris are in the evening I think it should be bearable, right ?
What else to do there ? What to see ? Hotels around 180 US$ recomendations ? Tour agency recommendation ?
I have only a weekend. Two nights.
Thanks

Since you ask for Hotels in Dubai.
I just booked my hotel accomodation a couple days ago! Book through Emirates and the hotel rates are much less compared to a direct quote from the hotel. A ridiculous difference ........ not even close.
Btw, I'm from India ....... contact your local Emirates office for hotel bookings in Dubai!

Hi Claudia,
Emirates organized my visa. There is no UAE consulate in India - they just process the paper work.
I'm down South, in Tamil Nadu - check with your regular travel agent or see if there is an Emirates office in Pune. Should be one!

It's not uncommon for temps to hit 45-50C in Dubai in July. If you don't care for shopping, there is little to see of a cultural nature, and hotels tend to be pricey, very pricey! Bear in mind also the horrendous traffic. The Wild Wadi Waterpark might make a good outing but that alone would scarcely justify a trip to Dubai!

If you have to travel in July then you could hire a 4WD car and driver to take you wadi bashing and there are trips into the desert too. Perhaps you could do a sunset safari?
Yes, it will be very hot so it really depends on how you cope with the heat. You could rest by the pool during the hottest part of the day and arrange your trips for early morning or late afternoon.
