We're headed for Mala Mala, but staying at Kirkman's Kamp next year. For information on Harry's, suggest you contact www.karell.com, Lesley Cusick ... she will send you information. Or Wilderness Safaris. Or ccafrica.com. Fodors guide to Southern Africa will give you details. And search on Kavey from the UK ... she has extensive experience in SA, and may be able to advise you. Ciao

You can contact two agents in the US for some information: Karell in Coral Gables, FL, www.karell.com; and Fish Eagles in Houston, TX. Also, send an e-mail to [email protected], and ask them to mail materials to you. Their site is www.malamala.com.

Ciao

We stayed at Harry's two years ago just after the new site opened. I recommend it. The location overlooks a river bed (dry when we were there) where elephants lurk. The rooms are large and luxurious. (The staff says it is almost as luxurious as the Main Camp.) Each has a balcony on the river side. Just a great place.
jim

I was just there. I stayed in Main Camp at MalaMala. but we visted Harry's Camp and Kirkman's, as well. Between Harry's and Kirkman's, I preferred Kirkman's. Kirkman's pricing falls somewhere between Main Camp and Harry's. the accommodations are a bit more spartan's at Harry's, and there's just not as much "atmosphere, if you know what I mean. Kirkman's is really beautiful, as is Main Camp.

With regard to the game drives, the number of guests in the Land Rover is higher at Harry's than at the other two. At Main Camp, the maximum is 6 passengers to a vehicle, whereas they will take 8 at Harry's. That two people have to sit in the middle thw whole time -- not great. On the other hand, they assured us that the quality of the guides and trackers was of the same high standard as at Main Camp. So, you can still have a grat experience at a good price.

Feel free to email me for more info.

Sandy
