Need help planning northern Morocco trip as an add-on to Spain trip
My husband and I are going on a group trip to Spain in May. We'd like to visit northern Morocco where my father was raised (Tetouan). Since the Spain group is starting out in Granada we thought maybe we'd do the Morocco leg first. Would like advice on where to go other than Tetouan if we have only a few days and what the best way to travel from northern Morocco to Granada is.

I started a reply on the Europe board but be advised that you tagged your post "Slovenia" and not "Spain". Are you arranging your own flights or are they included in your group tour ? And, where are you flying from, into, and to ?

We didn't stop in Tetouan as we were running short on time, but we passed through the city going from Chefchaouen to Ceuta. Ceuta ferry port is easy to manage to purchase a ferry ticket to Algeciras on the spot.
Even from Chefchaouen, it was an easy trip by local taxi, though a bus mad the journey too. We'd done a similar bus from Fes to Chefchaouen. Nothing plush, but it worked, everyone got a functional seat. Tetouan is only 25-30 km from the gates for immigration at Ceuta (you probably know, but once you enter Ceuta, you're already in Spain). However you get from Tetouan to Ceuta entry, you walk through on foot. Do your passport stuff which is easy, walk out to the curb and catch another taxi to the ferry port unless you want to hang out a little while in town

Oh, sorry. In Algeciras, the train station isn't more than about 700 meters from the ferry port. The views along the train route to Granada (via Ronda) are gorgeous. We just bought tickets at the station but were armed with a timetable we got online.
