A crash of rhinos - another trip through Kruger private reserves
Hey all,
I'm writing a trip report on our safari of last month.
This trip was 18 nights in total, starting on April, 29th. The places we chose were a combination of camps that we visited last year, and some camps of the year before. Our shedule was like this;
- Africa On Foot, Klaserie: 4 nights
- Shindzela, Timbavati: 4 nights
- nThambo, Klaserie: 6 nights
- Umkumbe, Sabi Sands: 4 nights
However... we did not stick to that shedule (you'll read about it further on in the report).
See:

The last part (Umkumbe) will be added this weekend.
Enjoy!
J.

Wonderful report & especially the small embedded video clips. The giraffes' mating dance is so cool. Love the quality of the shot of buffalo with birds. Also the babies. Must have had a really good time. Thanks!

Hey Christabir,
Yes the atmosphere is still the same as last time I was there. Mike is a very good guy. So are Peter and Monika.
Melita is now in charge. Food is still as fantastic, so I think she must have learned a lot from Gertie.
Ciao,
J.

We saw so many rhinos last year in Kruger and especially Hluhluwe. We were in the middle of a rhino joust (by ourselves!) for at least a half hour and we had two big groups (sleeping, did you know they snore?). We saw black rhinos in Rhino River Lodge and Tembe. We were incredibly fortunate. It concerns me when we make them accustomed to humans when they are under attack.
J, if it's the same Mike we had as our guide last year, he is one of the most pleasant young men we met. For such a young guy, we were surprised by how responsible he was.
