Yellow fever shots for SA?

Does anyone know if yellow fever shots are required if going to South Africa after a few days in Vicotria Falls? I am planning to stay on the Zim side, but may walk over the bridge to Zambia, and I understand that parts of Zambia are declared as risk areas.

Thanks tripster. The reason I am asking is that the CDC guidelines indicate that South Africa might require it (and could potentially decide to give you a shot at the border) if you come from Zambia within the last six months.

Agreed with Tripster, NO no and NO!

However, If you enter SA after being in Kenya and or Tanzania you COULD be asked to produce your innoculation record, which if you do not have they will charge you $25 and adminster the shot at the airport. Been there done that!

Sorry to hear mkhonzo,

I presume that they gave you a clean needle at least. (This is my biggest fear.)

I actually had a full day to enjoy J'burg, but once they offered to give me the shot, I refused and stayed in the Business lounge until my night flight.
I know that I probably had reason to be concerned about getting a clean needle, but was just irate at not being warned that this could happen. Learned my lesson and came home sans curios as was planned from the bruma market.
